NEO LOCAL AI — MAC PREVIEW 1.3

Your three local AI assistants, in a Mac app.

REQUIREMENTS
Apple silicon Mac; macOS 14 or later; 8 GB memory or more; at least 4 GB of free disk space. This download does not support Intel Macs, Windows, iPhone, or Android.

GET STARTED
1. Extract the ZIP and move Neo Local AI.app into your Applications folder.
2. Open Neo Local AI.
3. Select Download free models. The first setup downloads approximately 3.5 GB. Keep Neo open until setup finishes.
4. Choose Chat, Code, or Images, then send a message. No AI subscription or API key is needed. Once the models are downloaded, the assistants run on your own Mac and can work offline.

Setup shows download progress. If the internet connection fails, select Try again. Completed files are kept, and incomplete downloads can resume. Quitting Neo pauses setup; open the app again to continue.

MACOS SECURITY NOTICE
This is a free community preview. It is locally signed, but it is not signed with an Apple Developer ID or notarized by Apple. macOS may block an app downloaded from the internet. Review the source of the download before deciding whether to approve it in macOS Privacy & Security. The download does not change your Mac's security settings automatically.

YOUR OWN DATA
This copy does not include the creator's chats, models, invitations, or Obsidian notes. Your model files and settings are kept in:
~/Library/Application Support/Neo Local AI Portable

Obsidian memory and remote sharing are off in this preview. Your Mac handles your requests locally. Closing the window keeps Neo running; choosing Quit Neo Local AI stops its local service.

PLEASE EXPECT A PREVIEW
Small local models can misunderstand questions or give incorrect answers. Check important answers. First replies may take longer while a model loads, and image understanding is limited. This release has not been tested on every supported Mac or macOS version.

BUNDLED COMPONENTS
The app includes Python and llama.cpp. It downloads Qwen3 1.7B, Qwen2.5-Coder 1.5B, and SmolVLM 500M model files with checksum verification. The app's bundled backend folder includes the third-party license notices.
